PRIVACY POLICY

One thing we are very proud of is the return we give to our members. Since 1981, a loan interest rebate has been paid to members who borrow from CoVantage Credit Union. For those who saved with us, we continue to lead the area in above average rates on savings.

How to Become a Member
You are eligible for membership if you fit into one of the following groups:

• You live or work in the Wisconsin counties of Langlade, Forest, Lincoln, Oneida, Florence, Marathon, Oconto, Shawano, Menominee, Clark, Portage, or Wood Counties in Wisconsin; and Dickinson and Iron Counties in Michigan.
To see a map of our field of membership charter area, click here. The charter area is shown inside the bold outline.

• You are a member of Servco FS Cooperative (formerly Farm Bureau Cooperative) in Antigo.
• You are a present student or alumni of a post-secondary school in Marathon County.

If you’re not sure if you’re eligible, you can e-mail us or call 715-627-4336 and someone will help you.

Once you’ve determined you are eligible:
• Stop by one of our locations and fill out an application.
• Maintain a $10.00 Balance in a share (savings) account. You become a member when you are a primary owner on a savings account with a balance of $10.00 or more.

Once you’re a member of CoVantage Credit Union:
• You are eligible to apply for any service or benefit which CVCU provides.
• You own one share of the Credit Union no matter how much money you have on deposit.
• You are eligible to cast one vote during the annual election of the Board of Directors.
• You are eligible to be a member for life, even if you move to a different location. Keeping your account active, maintaining the required $10.00 balance in a savings account, and ensuring your accounts remain in good membership status, are all that is required for lifetime membership with CoVantage Credit Union.

Community Support

At CoVantage Credit Union, we believe it’s important that we support and give back to the communities we serve. Each year we make significant monetary donations to area events and encourage staff to volunteer their time to community causes. You’ll also see staff participating by teaching youth about finances, volunteering at youth fairs, taking part in civic groups such as the Optimist and Rotary Clubs, and even waving from a CoVantage float in the local parades! Click here for more information.

  Safety & Soundness
As a member of CoVantage Credit Union, your funds are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $100,000. IRA funds are insured up to $250,000 as of 4/1/2006. State examiners and auditors examine the Credit Union’s financial status annually for compliance with existing laws that govern Community-Chartered Credit Unions. We are also required to comply with Federal rules and regulations and are examined regularly by Federal auditors.

U.S.A. Patriot Act
On October 26,2001, President Bush signed into law the U.S.A. Patriot Act.  The purpose of this law is to help protect you, your family, and our country from terrorism by preventing terrorist financing.  We want you to know that section 326 of the Act requires our credit union to verify the identity of all new credit union members.  We must also verify the identity of members and nonmembers added as signatories to, and have access to, new or existing deposit accounts and loans.  We must also retain copies of documents used to verify your identity.
If you are an existing member who joined the credit union before the U.S.A. Patriot Act rules became effective, we may also need to verify and retain copies of any documents used to verify your identity when you request a new deposit account, apply for a loan, or are added as a signatory to a new, or existing deposit, or loan account.
We ask for your understanding as we work to support these efforts to maintain the security of your funds and our country.  Please speak with a credit union staff member if you have any questions or concerns about our identity verification procedures.
