Difficulty Viewing Menu/Web Pages In e-Tex

- To use CoVantage e-Tex we recommend either Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 6.0 with Service Pack1, or Netscape Communicator/Navigator version 4.x or
newer, both with the additional Java Plugins installed. If you are using a Mac we recommend running Mozilla 1.7.5 or Netscape 7.2. This will enable
you to view your account information. If you are having difficulty viewing
the menu at the left side of our home page or experience other problems in
e-Tex then please read the instructions below to upgrade your PC.

- NOTE: When you are prompted to download the file, please make sure
you know where you are saving it. When it is done downloading the file you
must then make sure you run the file. Simply downloading the file WILL
NOT upgrade your PC.
- Internet Explorer Java Virtual Machine: After you have downloaded
and executed the file (installed Internet Explorer 6.x) you must then
download the Java Virtual Machine.
- Netscape Users: If you wish to upgrade to the latest version of
Netscape Navigator please choose the FULL INSTALL.
- WebTV Users: There are screen formatting problems when accessing e-Tex
with WebTV. WebTV does not correctly display and link Java Applets. We are
sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
After you have successfully downloaded, installed and rebooted (restarted)
your PC, then follow the instructions below to clear out your cache and to make
a few adjustments.
Clearing Your Cache
For Internet Explorer Users: - Go into Internet Explorer.
- Go into your [Tools] tab on the top then go down to [Internet Options].
- When you get into the options, you will be on the [General] tab. Near the
middle of the page you will see 2 different buttons, [Delete Cookies] and
[Delete Files]. You should click on both of these buttons and then when it
asks you if you are sure, go ahead and click [OK] for both of these.
- Next look at the top of the options box and look for a tab called
[Content].
- Click on the [Content] tab and near the bottom right you will notice 2
different buttons, [My Profile] and [Auto Complete]. Click on the [Auto
Complete] tab and select the [Clear Forms] tab. When it asks you 'Are you
sure?' click Yes or OK.
For Netscape Users:
- Bring up your browser and go to Edit on the
top menu bar.
- Choose Preferences and on the left hand side
menu and click on the Privacy & Security tab.
- Choose Passwords - you will see a box that
reads Remember passwords. Do not check this box if you do
not want your passwords saved.
(You should not save your password for e-tex if anyone else has access to
your computer.)
- Go Back and choose Forms under the Privacy & Security tab.
There is a box that reads Save form data from web pages when
completing
forms. This has the
ability to save addresses and credit card information. (If other
people have access to your computer you would not want these things saved.)
For Netscape 4.74 Users:
- Bring up your browser and go to Edit on the
top menu bar.
- Choose Preferences on the bottom of
the
menu and click on the Advanced category located on the left side of the
menu that appears. A list of choices will appear under the Advanced
category.
- Choose Cache then click on the Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache buttons that appear on the
right side of the menu. When it asks you 'Continue?' click Yes or OK.
For Netscape 7.1 Users:
- Bring up your browser and go to Edit on the
top menu bar.
- Choose Preferences on the bottom of
the
menu and click on the Advanced category located on the left side of the
menu that appears. A list of choices will appear under the Advanced
category.
- Choose Cache then click on the Clear Cache button that appears on the right side of the menu.

Web Help for Quicken/MS Money
Note: Quicken has changed its file format from QIF to OFX with Quicken 2005 for Windows. This format will not be downloadable from our e-TEX site.
Steps for downloading Quicken/MS Money files from your account on e-TEX:
- Go to History on the menu bar.
- Select Quicken/Money History Download.
- Select the share you would like to download a history for.
- Select a beginning and end date.
- Select QIF for the Quicken download or MS Money OFX for the MS Money download . Then click Continue.
- MS Money will automatically download the file and prompt you to load the information when you open up the MS Money software. Quicken will prompt you to save the file. When the file download dialog box appears click Save.
- Select a directory to save the file to then click Save. (It is important to remember where you are saving the file and its name.)
- When the dialog box opens click Close. You may then choose to end your e-TEX session by clicking the end session button.
- Open your Quicken software for the Quicken download.
- Click on File on at the top of the screen on the menu bar.
- Go to Import then QIF File.
- Click on the Browse button to locate the file you downloaded previously from e-TEX.
- Select an account to download the file to. Click OK.
- The file should download to Quicken and inform you that it has successfully imported the items. Click OK.
If you are experiencing content type document problems with Quicken/MS Money using Internet Explorer please try the following:

Internet Explorer 6.0
- Double-click My Computer, then click Tools from the menu bar located at the top of the screen.
- Select Options or Folder Options from the drop-down menu.
- Click the View tab.
- Verify that Show All Files is selected.
- Verify that Hide extensions for known file types is not selected.
- Click OK.
- Double-click My Computer, then click Tools from the menu bar located at the top of the screen.
- Then select Folder Options located at the bottom of the menu.
- Click the View tab and verify that Hide extensions for known file types is not selected. If it is, deselect it.
- Click OK.
- Click the File Types tab.
- Click the New button.
- In the Create New Extension window, enter QIF for Quicken or OFX for MS Money. This returns you to the File Types tab.
- Click on the new extension that was created (QIF or OFX).
- Under Details for QIF or OFX extension, click Change. This opens an Opens With window.
- At Choose the program you want to use, scroll down the list of applications and select Notepad.
- Click OK.
- Click the Close button.
- Close the My Computer window.
