For this year's annual meeting, the nominating committee presented three individuals for CoVantage Credit Union's Board of Directors. All members were notified through the year-end newsletter of procedures by which additional members could be nominated to run for board election by means of petition. Since the January 26th deadline for nominations has passed, this year's board candidates will remain as presented and there will be no online election. Members attending the annual meeting will be asked to cast a unanimous ballot to approve the three candidates presented to serve as CoVantage Credit Union board members.

Directors will serve a term of three years.

Board Candidates

Matt Kolling Susan Gitzlaff
Wausau, WI


Susan has been a CoVantage member for nine years and has served on the board for four years. She is currently the board secretary.

Susan is a Practitioner in Project Management with Deluxe Corporation and is responsible for leading complex projects and diverse teams while maintaining the organization's budget integrity and schedule. She also provides leadership to other project teams and mentors peers to help them achieve success.

Susan earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and a Project Management Professional certificate, as well as other certificates relevant to her career. She is a member of the Project Management Institute, Project Management Northeast Chapter, and is a past member of the Change Control Audit Committee at WAUSAU Financial Systems.

Susan believes her responsibilities of managing large project budgets and providing revenue forecasts gives her the knowledge necessary to help make financial decisions that can increase the credit union's profitability.

Susan and her husband, Kurt, have two children. She is an avid runner who has completed over 30 marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon, the New York City Marathon, and the Boston Marathon.


Paul Payant

Lee Siler
Crystal Falls, MI


Lee has been a CoVantage member for 17 years and has served on the board for four years. He currently holds the position of vice chairman.

Lee is the owner and president of the Lud Stoor Insurance Agency in Crystal Falls and Miner’s State Insurance Agency in Iron River. He is responsible for managing both offices and ten employees; in addition to selling personal, commercial, life, and health insurance to customers.

Lee is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, and has also received a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Lee currently serves on the board of Northern Mutual Insurance Company. Lee was a board member of the Iron County Chamber of Commerce and the Crystal Falls Business Association. He has also been involved with the City of Crystal Falls Planning Commission, Iron County Little League, and Central UP Youth Football League.

Lee believes his business background and experience working with customers of diverse backgrounds and needs is a benefit to the board and the credit union.

Residents of Crystal Falls, Lee and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons.

Willis Qualheim Mike Windberg
Menominee, MI
Mike served on the Menominee Area Credit Union board prior to the merger with CoVantage in September, and has been a member for 23 years.
Mike is a retired human resource professional. He has over 20 years of experience covering all aspects of HR including employee/labor relations, benefits, compensation, recruitment, policy administration, performance management, and training. Some of the positions that Mike has held include: Training Manager, Employee Relations Manager, and Vice President of Human Resources. Mike also served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force for seven years as a Personnel Programs Manager including being deployed for Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University and a master’s degree from Troy State University. Mike also received a Lean Manufacturing Certificate and has participated in Six Sigma Green Belt training. Mike belongs to the Knights of Columbus, and in the past was involved with the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Leadership Advisory Committee and Michigan School-to-Work Program.

Mike believes his experience serving on a credit union board has provided him with a solid understanding of the industry and desires to serve CoVantage in a similar role.
Mike is married with three children and four grandchildren.
