Almost anyone is eligible to become a member at CoVantage. It's easy to figure out if you qualify, and easier still to take the first step toward joining.

We invite you to become a credit union member

CoVantage Credit Union offers convenient checking accounts, great rates on savings deposits, low-cost loans, top-notch business services, and cutting-edge digital banking and mobile app tools. Here's who is eligible to join CoVantage:

  • You live or work in the following counties: Brown, Calumet, Clark, Door, Florence, Fond Du Lac, Forest, Kewaunee, Langlade, Lincoln, Manitowoc, Marathon, Marinette, Menominee, Milwaukee, Oconto, Oneida, Outagamie, Ozaukee, Portage, Price, Shawano, Sheboygan, Taylor, Vilas, Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, Winnebago, and Wood in Wisconsin; Dickinson, Iron, and Menominee in Michigan; and Cook,* DuPage,*  and Will in Illinois.
  • You donated to the CoVantage Cares Foundation, or had a donation made on your behalf. This requires a one-time $10 donation.**
  • You are a member of Servco FS Cooperative (formerly Farm Bureau Cooperative) in Antigo.
  • You are a present student or alumni of a post-secondary school in Marathon County.
  • You were a member at the time of the merger with any of the following: Shawano Paper Mills Employees Credit Union (effective 11/1/2008); Marathon Rothschild Credit Union (effective 1/1/2012); Menominee Area Credit Union, merger (effective 9/30/2017); CentralAlliance Credit Union, merger (effective 1/1/2019); or a customer at the time of the acquisition of LincolnWay Community Bank, (effective 1/1/2023).
  • You are an existing customer of Northwoods National Bank: a branch of the Baraboo National Bank in Baraboo, Wisconsin (obtained 2/2016).
  • You are an employee of Little Rapids Corporation, Shawano Mill, Weber Veneer & Plywood Company, Weyerhaeuser Co., Wisconsin, Kimberly Clark Corporation and subsidiaries, or Facility Logistics Services, Inc.
  • You are an employee or retiree of Gulf Stream or The Halyard Health employee group.
  • All law enforcement personnel and/or firefighters currently employed or retired, to include any member of an organization or not for profit group that has a law enforcement or firefighter focus throughout the State of Wisconsin.
  • You are a spouse, parent, child, stepparent, stepchild, sibling, step-sibling, grandparent, step-grandparent, grandchild or step-grandchild of a current CoVantage Credit Union member.
  • Any organization or association may become a member of CoVantage Credit Union if the majority of the directors, owners, or members thereof are eligible for membership in the credit union. In addition, any organization or association that has a business location within the charter area is eligible for a membership in CoVantage Credit Union. Furthermore, any trust may become a member of the credit union if the majority of the persons who are settlors(s), trustee(s), and beneficiary(ies) are eligible for membership.

**100% of your donation goes directly to the CoVantage Cares Foundation. Your non-refundable donation to join the foundation and thus become a CoVantage member do not guarantee you will be approved for any requested account, loan, or service. You will also be required to make a $10 deposit into your share (saving)s account to establish your membership. That deposit is yours to withdraw should you decide to cancel your CoVantage membership.”

If You Are Eligible for Membership

  • Visit one of our branch locations or open an account online
  • A $10 deposit in a regular Share Savings Account is all that is required to establish your ownership share in the credit union.
  • At that point, you are eligible to apply for any financial service or benefit that CoVantage provides.
  • You own one share of CoVantage no matter how much money you have on deposit.
  • You are eligible to cast one vote during the annual election of the Board of Directors. You will be given advance notice of when this takes place.
  • You are eligible to be a member for life, even if you move outside our charter area.

Important Security Information

  • Credit unions and other financial institutions are playing a key role in helping the government fight the funding of terrorism and money-laundering activities,
  • Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
  • When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.
  • We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
