Join us on Monday, September 9th at our De Pere branch for The Community Blood Center Blood Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Schedule your donation to save up to three lives. Your donation will go to one of our 40+ local hospital partners to save lives in our local community. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Register at communityblood.org.

Blood drives are more than just community events; they are lifelines that sustain the health and well-being of countless individuals. Donating blood is a simple yet profound act of kindness that offers numerous benefits, both for the recipients and the donors. Here’s why participating in a blood drive is so important:

1. Saving Lives

Every blood donation can save up to three lives. Blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. By donating, you provide a critical resource that hospitals and emergency services rely on daily.

2. Supporting Your Community

Blood donations often stay within the local community, directly helping neighbors, friends, and family members in need.

3. Promoting a Culture of Giving

Participating in blood drives encourages a culture of generosity. It sets a positive example for others, inspiring them to contribute to the well-being of their community.

4. Emergency Preparedness

Blood drives ensure that there is a steady supply of blood available for emergencies. Natural disasters, accidents, and unforeseen medical crises can deplete blood supplies quickly. Regular donations help maintain a ready reserve.

Shred Fest Drive-Thru Event

Join us on Saturday, October 5th at our Appleton branch for our Shred Fest drive-thru event. Shred your documents containing personal & sensitive information for FREE! The event will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or until the truck is full. We will be collecting nonperishable food items for Saint Joseph’s Pantry. Acceptable materials include paper, manila file folders, paper clips, staples. Limit three “banker boxes” per vehicle. Learn more about the benefits of shredding your personal documents.

In today’s digital age, it’s easy to overlook the importance of securely disposing of physical documents. However, shredding your personal documents is key to protecting your identity and privacy. Here are some key benefits of shredding your personal documents:

1. Prevent Identity Theft

Identity theft is a growing concern, with criminals constantly seeking ways to obtain personal information. Shredding documents that contain sensitive information, such as bank statements, credit card bills, and medical records, ensures that these details cannot be reconstructed and misused.

2. Protect Your Privacy

Your personal documents often contain private information that you wouldn’t want others to access. Shredding these documents helps maintain your privacy by ensuring that your personal details remain confidential.

3. Reduce Clutter

Accumulating piles of old documents can lead to unnecessary clutter in your home or office. Regularly shredding documents you no longer need helps keep your space organized and tidy, making it easier to find important papers when you need them.

4. Peace of Mind

Knowing that your personal information is securely destroyed provides peace of mind. You can rest assured that your sensitive data won’t fall into the wrong hands, allowing you to focus on more important aspects of your life.
